Changes for Non-Levy Paying Organisations

Access to incentives and apprenticeship funding for non-levy paying organisations is changing from April 1 2021. From this date on, non-levy employers will only be able to access funds by registering for an online digital account. This change will enable employers to recruit additional apprentices and will provide non-levy paying organisations with greater flexibility and reassurance when planning their apprenticeship programmes.

The Education Skills and Funding Agency (ESFA) will reset reservation levels for employers who do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy, this will authorise those employers to make up to 10 new reservations. Please note that funds transferred from employers who pay the levy to other employers through the apprenticeship service are not included when measuring the number of reservations.

It’s important to note that from the beginning of April, the ESFA are extending the reservation period for employers who do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy from 3 to 6 months. This means that employers will be able to reserve funds up to 6 months before an apprenticeship is planned to start.

Our Workforce Development team has already assisted many employers throughout the Liverpool City Region and the North-West with these new changes and can provide online or face-to-face support to help your business to access apprenticeship funding and incentives.
