Brand new Skills Bootcamps launching at The Learning Foundry!

At The Learning Foundry, we’re working every day to help individuals and businesses to reach their full potential - and Make Talent Shine.

We’re excited to announce that the Department of Education have granted The Learning Foundry funding to deliver Skills Bootcamps in three subject areas across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and the wider North West, starting in February 2024.

Skills Bootcamps are fully funded, flexible short courses of up to 16 weeks for anyone aged 19 or over. At The Learning Foundry, we’ve worked with local employers and partners to develop our Skills Bootcamps offer to address gaps in skills and employment in our local area.

The contract means, starting in February 2024, The Learning Foundry will roll out three Skills Bootcamp programmes: Green Skills, Telecomms and Civils (in collaboration with Inside Connections) and Live Music and Events – an extension of our flagship Sound Check programme in partnership with Future Yard.

Our Managing Director, Claire Lee, says:

“All the team at The Learning Foundry are thrilled to be awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver Skills Bootcamp training. The funding will enable us to equip people with the skills they need to secure and develop careers not just jobs and ensure employers see our region as an attractive place to stay and invest.”

Craig Pennington, Chief Executive and Co-Founder at Future Yard, says:

“Future Yard are thrilled to expand on our successful partnership with The Learning Foundry. The live music sector is a highly valuable growth industry and provides opportunities for a rewarding career both locally and internationally. We want to encourage more people to see the opportunities that the music industry and live events sector has to offer and we’re leading the way by reimagining music venues such as Future Yard, into knowledge sharing and training hubs that engage people towards a new career. We’re excited to start the next chapter of that development through the Skills Bootcamp funding with The Learning Foundry.”

John Burton, Founder of Inside Connections, says:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for prisoners and prison leavers to gain valuable training that will give them the skills and confidence to gain employment. The Skills Bootcamp provide a link to employers for learners, motivating ex-offenders with employment opportunities helps to reduce the potential for re-offending.  Through our partnership with The Learning Foundry we can make a real difference in supporting our learners on their journey to a crime free future.”

This is an exciting opportunity to continue supporting local people and businesses reach their full potential, and work in-line with the Department for Education’s ‘Lifetime Skills Guarantee’, supporting people into meaningful, and permanent employment.
