Getting stuck in - Josh's story

Josh is truly a TLF superstar. After excelling in a Level 2 Customer Service qualification, he has now gained himself a Distinction in all aspects of this End Point Assessment for his Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. Josh is also a well-loved member of the team at The Regenda Group, working as a Facilities Assistant.

We caught up with Josh to find out more about his keys to success!

“I started my course in the tail-end of 2022 – and I’m so glad to finish with such an amazing result

“Before I started my journey with The Learning Foundry, I was working in the Technical and Production Crew. I started looking for qualifications in customer service, which led me to me business administration apprenticeship, because I was looking to gain more transferable skills that could lead me into an office role.

“My favourite bit about the course was learning all things project management. It was really fun to watch my project develop in real time.

“Project management is one key skill I learnt in my apprenticeship, but I’d say my skills in planning, budgeting and being able to think on my feet definitely improved, too. I’d even class myself as a bit of a procurement expert, as well. For my project I was able to source resources as cheaply as possible!

“There were obviously difficult bits about learning on the job. When something goes wrong, you have to be there to put things right! I wanted my project to be a success and I wanted all the important people in my business to see it as well.

“The Learning Foundry really encourage you to get stuck in with this. I could get on with my tasks all the time knowing that I have all the knowledge I need and that my tutor will be there for me whenever I need help or support.

“My tutor Nicola was amazing – so helpful! There were some kinds of questions and exam techniques that I really struggled with. Whenever I was stuck, Nicola would be there to talk things through with me, and give me the support I needed.”

Josh’s Development Coach, Nicola, says,

“I’ve coached Josh through two apprenticeships with The Learning Foundry. When he first joined us, he was quiet and shy.

“It's been great watching him - he has developed his communication skills and people skills and is now able to support a wide range of employees across the whole of The Regenda Group.

“Josh is a go to person for problem solving - he has a vast working knowledge of the organisation and who to go to.

“Individually, he has successfully run a project introducing recycling to several offices within his business, and still managed to complete his Level 3 apprenticeship ahead of schedule!”

WOW. Well done, Josh. At The Learning Foundry, we love watching our learners grow and it’s great when they keep in touch so we can keep celebrating everything they achieve!
