Luke’s Apprenticeship Journey as a Business Administration Apprentice

We recently caught up with Luke, who is doing a Business Administration Apprenticeship and currently working at The Regenda Group.

Over the next 18 months, Luke will work across different departments within The Regenda Group. He will spend time with People Services, Finance, ICT, and the Innovation and Brand team. This hands‑on experience is helping him understand how a large organisation works while he works towards his Level 3 Business Administrator qualification.

What it’s like doing an apprenticeship in Liverpool

“Everyone was really welcoming, especially when I started, but right the way through. Everybody’s been really supportive. Any questions I've had, anything that I've needed to learn, if there's been anything I've needed at all, there's always been somebody here to help me.”

How my apprenticeship helped to develop my skills

“Through The Learning Foundry, I’ve been able to develop my communication skills, networking skills, and a whole variety of other skills.”

“It’s different to being in college because everything you do in your job is relevant to your course. It all links together. It’s a really good place to be.”

“This apprenticeship, and The Learning Foundry especially, really suits me. Being able to learn in work, doing the job, is completely different to anything I’ve done before. It’s much better for me. I feel more confident actually doing the job rather than just learning about it in a classroom without actually doing it.”

Advice I would give to school leavers thinking about an apprenticeship

“Anybody who’s considering doing an apprenticeship, I'd advise them to do it. Go ahead and do it because it's a brilliant experience. You get to work, earn, and learn at the same time. It’s a really good opportunity.”
