Changes to apprenticeship funding coming from 1st April 2024

And it’s good news! From 1st April this year, the government will fully fund all apprenticeships for small businesses. This means they’ll pay the full cost for apprenticeship training for anyone up to the age of 21.

Apprenticeship levy paying employers will also benefit from changes come April. The government will increase funding for levy paying employers and can transfer unused levy funds to other employers – meaning more people and more organisations can access the benefits of hiring an apprentice. Under the new measures, large employers who pay the apprenticeship levy will be able to transfer up to 50% of their funds to support other businesses, including smaller firms, to take on apprentices.
