The Learning Foundry are shortlisted for a LCR Culture & Creativity Award

We’re thrilled to announce that The Learning Foundry have been nominated for the Liverpool City Region’s Culture & Creativity Awards for our Sound Check programme, in partnership with Future Yard.

Together we’ve been nominated for the Preparing for Work award, which celebrates the impact culture and creativity has on developing technical, transferable and life skills in preparing young people for the world of work.

Sound Check, like all our courses, is more than your average employability course. It’s designed to introduce young people to the skills they need to pursue careers in the live music industry. It’s open to young people aged 16+ from the local area who have a passion for live music.

The best bit? Sound Check is delivered on site at Future Yard, a live music venue in the heart of Birkenhead. Giving learners the chance to feel, hear and be part of the region’s live music scene which has seen a rival through a host of festivals, gigs and of course Eurovision this year!

Working with great partners like Future Yard, whose mission is to ‘change lives through music’, The Learning Foundry are able to work continuously to break down barriers to success, to help people achieve their full potential.

The Learning Foundry’s Managing Director, Claire Lee, says:

“We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for the Preparing for Work category in LCR’s Culture & Creativity Awards. Our partnership with Future Yard is a prime example of how The Learning Foundry work collaboratively with local organisations who share our passion for making talent shine and building on the creativity and skills in our region.”

The Culture & Creativity Awards recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution that culture and creativity make to the Liverpool City Region. Established in 2019 as part of Metro Mayor Steve Rotherham's commitment to culture, the awards are now in their fifth year.

The awards are part of the Metro Mayor’s 1% for Culture initiative, and will honour the value and contribution that the cultural and creative sector brings to the Liverpool City Region, making it one of the most vibrant and exciting places to live, work, study, visit or do business in. The awards cover the 6 local authority Boroughs of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral.

The winner will be announced March 2024, keep your eyes and ears open for how we do on the night! In the meantime, find out more about learning or partnering with us, here!
