These free short courses are available for 16 – 24-year-olds and designed to open new pathways to employment. Over 18 weeks our programmes will teach you how to become an outstanding employee as you’ll learn new skills in the classroom and gain valuable real world work experience with top local employers.
You will also develop your employability skills including important interview techniques, how to create the perfect CV, teamwork and presentation abilities. We will also assist you in developing your wider life skills including money management, digital skills, improving your Maths and English.
Once you’ve finished your programme you’ll be supported along the next phase of your career and gain access to exclusive vacancies and job interviews only available to our learners.
Our courses starting this month are:
Childcare – Starting November 8th & 23rd
Are you interested in starting a new a career in a challenging and rewarding sector?
Our Childcare traineeship will prepare you for a career in early years, as you work towards a level 2 certificate in childcare. You will be taught how co-ordinator and devise sessions and activities for young children while also earning a Paediatric Frist Aid qualification. Your study units will include:
- Craft activities for children
- Young children’s development
- Keeping children safe
As part of this course, you'll undertake a work experience placement in a childcare setting, to shadow colleagues and get a real insight into what it's like to work in the sector.
Upon completion of this course, you'll get a guaranteed interview with Kids in Bloom and exclusive access to our job vacancies and apprenticeships.
Dental – Starting November 15th
If you like working in a fast paced and clinical environment, a career in dental could be right for you!
During our dental programme you will explore the key skills needed to progress into a dental career. Throughout the programme, you’ll experience the role of a dental nurse, learn how to mix materials in a dental setting, develop a strong knowledge of the structure of a tooth and earn a First Aid qualification.
After the classroom, you’ll take your new skills and knowledge to the real world as you undertake a work experience placement at a dental practice, shadowing dental nurses to find out about their role, assisting with sterilisation of equipment, dealing with patients, preparing surgeries for procedures, and more!
Once you've completed this course, you can progress onto a level 3 apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, with a view to progressing into hygiene therapy at university or even dentistry as well as gaining access to our exclusive apprenticeship opportunities!
Picture Your Future – Starting November 15th
If you’re not sure where your career lies, our Picture Your Future Traineeship will help and support you to find where you belong.
During this programme you will learn important skills from teamwork and presentation to gaining a First Aid Qualification. Through the guidance of our experienced tutors, your transition from classroom to the workplace will be made that much easier, setting you up for success in any career you choose. This programme includes:
- Augmented climbing wall sessions and team building challenges
- Outward bound sessions at Vibe Outdoors including canoeing, archery, and more.
- Real work experience with a fantastic local employer.
- Exclusive access to our apprenticeship vacancies.
As part of this course, you'll undertake a work placement with a top local employer where you will gain valuable experience in a real work environment, which will only further your employability appeal and help begin your new chosen career.
