Who is it for?
For dental nurses currently working in an oral healthcare setting who would like to further their career and move into a senior role within the sector.
Entry requirements
To undertake this programme, learners must be working in a dental setting. They must hold five GCSE’s (grade A* - C / 9-4) or achieve Level 2 in English and Maths during initial assessment.

- Human respiratory and circulatory systems,
- Ionising radiation,
- Anatomy and oral health assessments,
- Oral diseases,
- Caries and restorations,
- Endodontics,
- Extractions and minor oral surgeries,
- Oral health information.
Assessment method
Learners complete assignments, professional discussions and observations in the workplace.
There is one final observation and assessment against End Point Assessment Objectives to confirm you're ready to enter the End Point Assessment period.
Learners will also need to pass 2 multiple choice exams.
Qualification
Learners will achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing.
Progression routes
This qualification allows learners to register with the General Dental Council, providing opportunities for more responsibility within the workplace.
